Globes, Tim, Idol and More!

Did you watch the Golden Globes last night?  E! apologizes for on-screen graphic during last night’s show that listed Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s Disease as a “Fun Fact”

Tina Fey took a shot at Taylor Swift last night when she congratulated Amy Poehler on her Golden Globe win.  She said, “I just want to say congratulations again to my friend Amy Poehler, I love you and there’s a special place in hell for you”.  If you remember, after Tina and Amy made fun of Taylor last year, Taylor said, ”There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.”

But they didn’t hold her down!  Taylor Swift had the biggest North American tour of 2013.  She’s leading the newly-released “Pollstar” list with her “Red” tour, which earned almost 113-million dollars from 66 shows throughout North America.  Kenny Chesney’s “No Shoes Nation” tour made 90-point-nine-million dollars, and ranks third behind Bon Jovi’s “Because We Can” tour.  The Rolling Stones and Beyonce round out the top five.  Jason Aldean is 11.  Luke Bryan comes in at number 15 on the list.  & Zac Brown Band and George Straight both made the top 25.

And when it comes to the number of tickets sold, country stars rule.  Swift leads that list as well, with more than one-point-three-million.  Chesney has the second-most tickets sold, at just under one-million-187-thousand.

New Year New McGraw happens today.  According to Tim’s website w’re supposed to get some new stuff today.  It’s been teased since the beginning of the year and today the countdown is on, I’m guessing to the new album.  His site says: On Jan 13 the behind the scenes becomes the scene – and there’s a countdown clock to Noon.

Idol returns Wednesday night – and here’s another reason this season will be better than the past several – they’re bringing it to the East Coast!  There are reports that the two-night season finale of this year’s edition of Idol will take place at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Fox has not confirmed the report, but the season 13 finale is scheduled to air on May 20th and 21st. The Idol finale has always been broadcast live from Los Angeles in the past. The show launches its new season January 15th with its latest panel of judges: Harry Connick Jr., Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez.
