Garth Brooks will play the first-ever concert at Notre Dame stadium Saturday night. On Friday he invited University students to sit in on a soundcheck.
Over 3,000 students attended the Friday soundcheck. Saturday’s setlist will be what Garth is calling “Music 101.”
“Music 101 is going to be fun,” Garth told WNDU-TV. “It’s going to be the start of an education for these kids about music that hopefully they remember. If they don’t, I’m sure their parents took care of them, but if they didn’t, our job is to make sure that they remember some of the greatest songs in history by some of the greatest artists in history. When we go to a college, we’ll do that.”
The Notre Dame concert, which will be filmed for a TV broadcast in December, is the first in Garth’s stadium tour, which will include stops St. Louis and Glendale, AZ. Five more stadium locations are to be announced by the end of the year. XTU Nation is counting on a Philadelphia-area show as the tour progresses.
