Maren Morris' latest single "Girl" and the official music video for the song really speaks to the women and girls of our country and beyond.

Maren sat down late last week to talk about the song and the video.

"I took vocal coaching when I was twelve or thirteen and I remember it helped me a lot but I also have some PTSD from it because it was just such a formative time in my youth where I was super insecure, I didn't know my vocal range yet and I would have these commanding, strict vocal coaches so I just remember that being like you're literally being yelled at," says Morris. "So, showcasing that in the video was hard to recreate just on an emotional level but I think so many people reacted to it because the whole song drops out and all you hear is him yelling at me. So, that was ripped right out of a Maren memory."

Maren appears all over TV next week with appearances on The Today Show and The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

Her new Girl album will be released on Friday, March 8.
