Garth Brooks opened his 2019 Stadium Tour in St. Louis on Saturday night.
Before the show began, he shared with fans on Facebook, “You’re not going to believe what you see when you walk in there. My breath went away and I know it! I was in on the drawings of it!”
The show kicked off “The Road I’m On” and “All Day Long” from his forthcoming album FUN!, and before her left the building he played over 30 songs. He told the crowd, “Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you…for my life. For my children’s life. Thank you for this band and crew’s life. We get to travel around the world playing music. And people show up to take care of us! They show up, they pay, they travel to take care of us. That’s a pretty sweet position to be in.”
Brooks’ wife Trisha Yearwood was there as well and joined him on stage, but her Trisha’s Tailgate event prior to the show had to be cancelled due to inclement and threatening weather.
Trisha shared on Instagram on Sunday, “About last night …” #GARTHinSTLOUIS
Garth will now set his sights on those next shows – Glendale, Arizona in a couple of weeks, Gainesville, Florida in April and a two-night stand in Minneapolis in May, followed by a visit to Pittsburgh.
