One of the greatest players to ever don the Phillies pinstripes, Jimmy Rollins, officially retires Saturday night at Citizens Bank Park.
The superstar shortstop will be honored during a pre-game ceremony before the Phils take on the Nats.
J-Roll spent 15 of his 17-year MLB career with the Phillies and was a key part of the 2008 World Series Championship team. He is a three-time MLB All-Star, won four Gold Gloves, the 2007 National League MVP and is a Silver Slugger award winner.
Phillies Phans 15 and older in attendance at Saturday night’s game will receive a 2008 World Series Replica Ring and the organization has promised many surprises during the on-field tribute, which begins at 6:40pm.
