Primary Menu

I did a Monday morning brunch to beat the Father’s Day rush and made a special trip Green Eggs Cafe.  There are 5 locations in Philly, including one of the newer locations on Girard Avenue in Brewerytown.

I usually go to the one in Northern Liberties which is just blocks away from the church were I cantor on the weekends.

This location gets crowded very fast, the big reason is their creative menu.  From eggs to pancakes to Frech Toast.  This is truly elevated to max.

For my brunch, I couldn’t decide between sweet and savory so I did a little of both.   I decided to try one of their specials which was a Peaches and Cream Baked Oatmeal.  It’s steel cut oatmeal with fresh peaches, peach maple syrup and chantilly cream on the top.  It was satisfying and the sweetness was just right.

However my main dish was one of their benedicts.  I had their Chorizo Benedict, which is chorizo patties on top of jalapeno corn cakes with two poached eggs, avocado and corn salsa, pico de gallo and hollandaise sauce.

Once those flavors get together they truly melt in your mouth.

So to paraphrase a quote from Dr. Seuss on how you will like Green Eggs Cafe:  “Try them, try them and you may, try them and you may, I say!!!!”  For me I do like Green Eggs Cafe!!!!  And you will too!!!
