Garth Brooks Called Blake Shelton For ‘Dive Bar’ Duet After His ACM Performance
Garth Brooks’ new duet with Blake Shelton “Dive Bar” happened after Garth saw Blake perform his latest single “God’s Country” on the ACM Awards in April.
Garth shared, “There was something in Blake’s face. When he was singing ‘God’s Country,’ I looked at his face and said, ‘This guy is believing every word…and it’s got him.’ When a song gets a singer…when it grabs a singer…you can see it in their face. And this guy wasn’t just performin’ – he was livin’ and breathin’ it. So I called him up right after.”
Brooks added, “Hats off to Blake. He kicked this song’s butt, and it shows up on the recording. It just makes me smile.”
Garth posted last week on Instagram, “What country radio station are YOU listening to? DIVE IN!!! love, g”
