Brunch With Brian: Corner Cafe 29
A couple years ago I found this place when I helping out moving costumes for a theatre group I was involved in.
Corner Cafe 29 is right on Route 29 just outside of Collegeville. It’s a family restaurant run by the Mahoney Family which offers a wonderful atmosphere where you’re treated like family when you come in for breakfast and lunch.
When you walk in, sit yourself down and check the amazing variety of their breakfast and lunch items. They have everything from omelettes to pancakes, Belgian waffles, even old standbys like “creamed chip beef” and “corned beef hash”
I’ve been here more than once and my personal favorites are the “Down Home Skillets.” I especially the “Meat Lovers Skillet” with eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, potatoes and cheese.
They also have seasonal favorites, a few years ago I had their “pumpkin pancakes” with brown sugar butter (they have to put that back on the menu!!!)
However today I was in the mood for a benedict and I had their specialty, “the Pendedict” with two poached eggs and hollandaise over Canadian bacon and homemade potato pancakes. A combination that is so worth it.
So if you’re traveling on 422 and you’re making a stop in Collegeville, take your friends to Corner Cafe 29 and feel at home.
