Garth Brooks Hits Another ‘Dive Bar’
Garth Brooks played his third “Dive Bar” last night (9/23) at the historic dancehall Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas.
Before the show he said, “Of the three things that God lets me do – write, record and perform – my favorite thing is getting to perform, ‘cause it’s with the people that make these songs what they are. The truth is – all the loudness, all the chaos, all the fun is all packed into that little place, makes it a lot of fun.”
Garth kicked off the show with “All Day Long” before moving through a hit-filled set that included such fan-favorites and honky-tonk staples as “Friends in Low Places.” Brooks and the band wrapped their dancehall set with “The Dance.”
Nancy Brooks has been working in the country music industry for almost 30 years. She has interviewed pretty much any country star you can think of. In the late 1990s, she started working with Dolly Parton. And yes, Nancy reports that Parton is as sweet as you would think. She loves her life in country music and has been backstage at every CMA Awards show since the late 1990s.
Many of her stories are from her one-on-one interviews. She was there at the beginning of the incredible careers of many music superstars today, including Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, and Blake Shelton, and has interviewed them multiple times throughout the years.
