(PICS) Man Loses 176 lbs to Attain Dream Job of Becoming a Cop!
What an incredible story! Losing weight is HARD. I would know, but I try every day to do it. Ha!
- Richmond, Virginia resident Romar Lyle’s lifelong dream was to become a police officer. But even though he earned a degree in investigative forensics, he couldn’t land a job. And then he finally figured out why: Tipping the scales at more than 400 pounds, he simply wasn’t in good enough shape.
- So he decided to do something about it. By changing his diet and taking part in crossfit training, Lyle knocked off 176 pounds — and last week, he was hired by the Richmond Police Department. “It was one of the most challenging things I have ever had to do but it has taught me so many life skills and valuable lessons that I will carry for the rest of my life,” he says. “I wake up every day smiling because when I think back on all the things I have done to get here; it reminds me that anything is possible.”
- Kyle says one of the things he learned on his weight loss journey is there are no magic pills or simple exercises to take off weight; doing so requires good old-fashioned determination. “Don’t quit on yourself,” he says. “Know that if you really want to do something, just set your heart to it. Surround yourself with people who will support you, family and friends, and just remember that as long as you believe in yourself, no one can tell you who you are.”
