Carrie Underwood just scored two 2019 American Music Awards as her album Cry Pretty was named as the winner of Favorite Country Album.

When she got to the stage, presenter Cobie Smulders told Underwood that she had a surprise for her: that she also won the award for Favorite Female Country Artist. Underwood told the crowd, "So it's a good surprise I was worried for a second. Thank you God for the talents you give people" She also went on to thank her husband and her two young sons, adding "Mommy loves you."

Underwood got a bit emotional when she thanked her friend Anne in management also not forgetting the fans saying, "Thank you to the fans, thank you so much. You're the one's that show up to the shows, you guys love on us so well," adding that fans "are the ones that matter."
