Gritty Looks Smooth Like Butter

How do you get people's attention when you want to promote dairy?  Create a sculpture of their favorite mascots!  That's exactly what the American Dairy Association North East did, along with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. Our beloved Gritty,  Swoop and the Steelers’ Steely McBeam  were all carved from 1,000 pounds of butter.  “East Meets West at the Pennsylvania Farm Show” is the theme for the 30th annual butter sculpture made with Pennsylvania dairy products!

The butter sculpture is on display at this year's Farm Show where half a million people are expected to visit during its eight-day run from January 4-11.
