Philly fav Jon Bon Jovi has opened another JBJ Soul Kitchen restaurant. This time it’s located at the Rutgers University-Newark campus. The idea is to make sure students struggling with food security don’t go hungry – it’s the first college campus location. There are two other locations, Toms River and the original Red Bank location that have served over 100,000 meals over the last decade. The restaurant offers diners an option of paying for their meals with money or through volunteer work at the restaurant or elsewhere on campus. Students and faculty alike can “pay it forward” by making a minimum donation of $12 and swiping an extra meal for non-paying diners.
