The Philadelphia Phillies could not have picked a more appropriate date to retire the number 34! The ceremony, in honor of the late Roy Halladay, is set for May 29th, which just so happens to be the 10th anniversary of “Doc” Halladay’s perfect game. Details are here.
If you attend the game that day you’ll get a commemorative Roy Halladay Retired Number statue. The team will also unveil a six foot high statue at Third Base Plaza at the game. Roy Halladay was 40 years old when he died in a plane crash in 2017.
