Hunter Hayes Revealed As The Astronaut On Fox’s ‘The Masked Singer’
Following Hunter Hayes’ Instagram for a few months, it seemed he was always in Los Angeles and not his Nashville home and now we know why. He was filling his part as the Astronaut on Fox’s The Masked Singer.
Last night (4/29), Hunter was revealed as the Astronaut after judges guessed that the Astronaut might be actor Jonathon Taylor Thomas or Ben Platt, it was judge Nicole Scherzinger who figured out the masked man’s identity, noting that she and Hayes once played a Fourth of July party together.
While some judges were surprised, country fans watching were likely not, as he’d been rumored to be the spaceman for several weeks, and his on-stage mannerisms match Hayes’ when he’s standing in conversation.
Hunter posted to Instagram himself last night after the big reveal, “#AstronautMask #TheMaskedSinger.”
Appearing live on the “After The Mask” episode from his Nashville home, Hunter said, “It’s been an unbelievable experience. This time in my life is a great chance for me to sort of hit a reset button and to try a bunch of things that I was scared of, and this show’s full of those. I’ve never danced properly, I’ve never worked on choreo[graphy]. Trying new songs, trying new things with my voice, it’s been incredible.”
