He Stopped Loving Her Today is, arguably, one of the greatest country songs of all time. Certainly the saddest. As a matter of fact, George Jones hated the song, calling it miserable and overly dramatic.
The writing is amazing. George Jones’s vocals (which took 18 months to complete) are untouchable.
