How perfect for the 4th of July!

  • Lee Greenwood surprised fans with a new version of the American classic song, “God Bless the USA.” Greenwood teamed up with the Air Force singers and Home Free for the new rendition, something he hasn’t done since penning the song back in 1984.
  • “I was encouraged by their tech at the board, who said, ‘Just do a couple passes. And do something like you’ve never done before.’ This is ‘God Bless the U.S.A.’ like you’ve never heard it before,” says Greenwood.
  • The acapella version of the song comes on the heels of a nation battling the coronavirus as well as many workers being unemployed. “God Bless America” being sung on the Fourth of July is as traditional as flying the flag itself cites Greenwood.
  • Home Free’s Austin Brown has had a dream come true by performing the song alongside Greenwood saying, “The opportunity to do this with a legend like Lee Greenwood, the original artist, the guy who wrote this song, it doesn’t get any better than this.”
