While Tim McGraw has been promoting his current single, “I Called Mama,” he's been quite emotional in interviews talking about his mom. But it turns out it’s not just Tim’s latest song that’s making him cry.

During this time of quarantining and social distancing, a lot of people have been doing a lot of self-reflection and maybe even learning some new things about themselves. When asked if McGraw has been introspective and learned anything about himself over these last few months, he said, “Gosh, I don’t know. At 53 I probably don’t self-examine as much as I should, but I think I’m learning that I’m getting more and more emotional, I think. I’m getting more and more emotional about everything.”

He adds, “Maybe I’ve been heading that direction for a while, but maybe this time has really sped that process up. I mean, I can cry at commercials now. It’s ridiculous.”

Tim’s new album, Here on Earth, will be available on August 21st.
