Oh no this is sad! I used to watch Cheers every Sunday night before I went to bed. I was fortunate to go to the original a few times that I was in Boston.
The bar, which opened in 2001, is a replica of the original Bull & Finch Pub on Beacon Street that inspired the hit TV show that aired from 1982 to 1993. It will close on August 30th.
Bar founder Tom Kershaw said the pandemic and a lack of assistance from the bar’s landlord “made this current challenge insurmountable,” Boston.com reported.
