The Andie Summers Show honors 1st Responders

Today marks the 19th Anniversary of 9/11.  We wanted to take the time today to honor all of our first responders for everything they do on a daily basis. We asked XTU Nation to call, text, email us and give us their first responder shout out.

Hey guys!! Love your show! My name is Christina and my dad has been a volunteer firefighter since he was a teenager. He is currently 64 and is the president of Harrisonville fire company. He is the most passionate and giving person I know. He inspires me everyday. I wanted to shout him out today for all of his dedication and hard work throughout his entire life. Thank you to all of the firefighters everyday!

My name is Brianna B, I'd love to give a special shoutout to my husband, James. He's a volunteer fire fighter in Levittown.  We love and appreciate all the first responders and our military.  Thank you, love you and love your show!

My name is Samm and Ive been a first responder for 4 years now. I am 7th generation fire and ems in my family. I wanna make a huge shout out to Cedarville Fire Department and Lawrance Township EMS in Cumberland county. I wanna also shout out all first responder brother and sisters and keep being safe and keep up the great work!

Eleanor Johnson - Good morning. Calling in for a shout out for my son in law Steve Costa.  He is an Allentown firefighter and rescue diver He and his wife a Hup nurse have worked all through the pandemic   They have 2 beautiful little girls 2 1/2 years old and 3 weeks old.  I could not have imagined a husband and father better for my daughter and granddaughters.   In this country of unrest these first responder men and women deserve the utmost respect for what they do.  They run in to places where most of us would never go and the communities they serve are better because of it.   We love you Steve!!! ????????

Angelina from Washington Township - I would like to thank my boyfriend Zachary who is a US Marine, his best friend Bill who is a volunteer firefighter in Deptford NJ, and my long time family friend James who is in the PA Army National Guard. I would also like to say happy 19th birthday to twins Brett and Dean of Washington Township. You handle sharing your birthday with a day of remembrance with grace.

Fred from mount holly I was sitting in world history class at Furness high school in South Philadelphia when one of the teachers came in and said who our teacher did you hear what happened up in New York at the World Trade Center. So my teacher turned on the tv just the tower one was collapsing. Such a sad day god bless America

Karen - Can you give a shout out to my son. He is a Volunteer Fire Fighter and a Police Officer in Delaware County. We both listen to your show everyday! He was 2 when 9/11 happened but as soon as he was old enough to learn about it the first thing he wanted to do was go to the 9/11 memorial.  His initials are BS!!

My name is Shelby from Hainesport, NJ!  I am a Volunteer EMT and EMS Chief  at hainesport EMS I want to give a shout out to all of the Volunteer EMT's and Volunteer Fire fighters at Hainesport EMS/Fire Company! Especially my mom Christina and Sister Robyn!

Josephine (2 years old) would like to recognize her daddy, John, who works as a police officer for the Drexel University Police department. They currently live states apart (currently in North Carolina), but listens to XTU via Alexa to feel closer to Philadelphia, and daddy.

My name is Lauren and I want to give a shoutout to the first responders closest to me.  My dad, brother and fiancée are all career firefighters/EMTs and have or do volunteer at local fire departments.  My dad has been a career firefighter for 30 years now and my brother 11.  Greg, my fiancée, is with West Point Military Academy's fire department and prior served as an Army MP in Afghanistan for 18 months.  Thank you to all of our first responders during these uncertain times.

Thinking about my boyfriend antonio getting a procedure today and one of my best friends Jamie who I have to lay to rest today. It's a rough day.

Rebecca from Fairless Hills - I'd love to shout out my first responder, my husband! He'sa paid firefighter at Boeing and has been volunteering for the last 16 years as well. Shout out to all our ladies and gentleman's at Station 30!

My name is Stacy..my husband, Kevin Faix (fay) is a paid EMT for Gloucester County EMS AND Monroe Twp...also volunteer firefighter for Cecil. Even though we are going through a lot with our relationship,, Id like to give a shout out him and to the entire volunteer crew of Cecil Fire company! They are currently going through a house renovation. This has made our 6year old son to want to be a firefighter. His daddy and the crew of Cecil are the reason he wants to be a firefighter????

Tracie - Id like to shout out to my 22 year old son Michael who is an EMT for the city of Trenton and he also is apart of the EMS team at Levittown Fairless Hills. He is my hero. And as a single mom he makes me proud for the career choice he has made. He was only 3 years old when 911 occurred

I just wanted to give a shout out to all the volunteer firefighters out there! Their willingness to serve without compensation deserves some extra recognition today (and throughout the pandemic )! –Ashley

My boyfriend is a volunteer firefighter in delco pa. He's been training to be a paid firefighter because he loves helping people so much even if it means leaving the dinner table as soon as a meal starts or leaving bed at 3am for a fire call. -Alyssa O.
