This year continues to catch us all off guard.
For the first time in the Academy of Country Music Award history, there has been a tie for the Entertainer of the Year award. Thomas Rhett and Carrie Underwood both were awarded the top title. 
After the awards ceremony, Rhett spoke with “Today” about his win.
“Just watching it back just now … it’s just amazing that that even happened in the first place,” Rhett said. “Carrie’s statement ‘2020, man’ is so correct. … It was just nuts. I was standing backstage and I heard Keith say, ‘You’re not going to believe this. It’s a two-way tie".
