LIVORNO, ITALY - JANUARY 17: A dog sits by its owner during the evening mass dedicated to Sant'Antonio in the Catholic church of Santa Rosa on January 17, 2021 in Livorno, Italy. Usually every year on this day many churches in Italy celebrate a mass, open to animals, in honour of Saint Anthony, the 4th century Egyptian hermit, patron Saint of animals. This year, due to the pandemic and the new restrictions in areas of Italy, the masses have proved more difficult. (Photo by Laura Lezza/Getty Images)

Break out the tissues!  We really don’t deserve dogs sometimes.

Our friend at NBC10 have the details:

very devoted dog named Boncuk has spent days waiting outside a hospital in northern Turkey where her sick owner was receiving treatment.  She followed the ambulance that transported her owner, Cemal Senturk, to hospital in the Black Sea city of Trabzon on Jan. 14.  She then made daily visits to the facility, private news agency DHA reported on Wednesday.

Senturk’s daughter, Aynur Egeli, said she would take Boncuk home but the dog would repeatedly run off and return to the hospital.

Hospital security guard Muhammet Akdeniz told DHA: “She comes every day around 9 a.m. and waits until nightfall. She doesn’t go in.”

“When the door opens she pokes her head inside,” he said.
