The Andie Summers Show

Weekdays 5:30AM-10AM

A Chick-Fil-A employee had a shock of a lifetime when she was gifted a brand new car from her co-worker.

Hokule’a Taniguchi a 19-year-old’s only means of transportation from her home in Neenah to her job at Chick-fil-A in Grand Chute was her bicycle.

“I couldn’t do it, myself!” Bridges told FOX affiliate WLUK of her friend. “I just – I can’t imagine how she does it.”

The car was the grand total prize for the restaurant’s Christmas party. “It was kinda like the rumor at Chick-fil-A that there’s gonna be a car at the giveaway,” Bridges said. “We all put one in and we’re like, ‘If one of us gets it, it’s gonna go to Taniguchi, like no matter what.’ It was not a second thought.”

Once it was announced that 17-year-old Haley Bridges won the car, she ran over to Taniguchi and gave her the biggest hug to let her know she’d be giving the car to her.

“I really just started crying, because I was so happy and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh! I can’t believe this is real!'” Taniguchi told WLUK. “Now I can go grocery shopping. I can like go to work like five minutes before now, instead of like two hours earlier, just to get here on time,” Taniguchi continued. “There’s a million more opportunities and possibilities for me now!”
