Miranda Lambert and rock singer Elle King are teasing a collaboration. Lambert posted a photo of the two together in her Instagram stories, and King posted a photo of the duo on her instagram account (Lambert commented with a winking emoji).

The song that they appear to be working on seems to be called “Drunk,” since both singers used the #Drunk hashtag.

Lambert has collaborated with a number of acts outside of country music: she and Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong recorded “Ordinary World”; Lambert, along with Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello were on John Fogerty’s solo version of his Creedence Clearwater Revival classic, “Wrote A Song For Everyone.” More recently, she worked with Barry Gibb of an updated version of his Bee Gees classic, “Jive Talking’.”

Lambert and King have worked together before: King was on Lambert’s cover of Elvin Bishop’s “Fooled Around And Fell In Love,” which also featured Maren Morris, Ashley McBryde, Tenille Townes and Caylee Hammack, all of whom opened for Lambert on her 2019 tour. That song won an ACM in 2020 for Musical Event of the Year, and it was actually King’s second ACM; she also won the same award in 2016 for “Different For Girls,” her duet with Dierks Bentley.

King is a solo artist with two LPs to her name; her most popular song is “Exes and Ohs.”
