Miranda Lambert announced yesterday (3/4) that her new album The Marfa Tapes -- a collaboration with songwriters Jack Ingram and Jon Randall -- will be out on May 7.

The Marfa Tapes is a collection of intimate and raw songs written and recorded together in the tiny, middle-of-nowhere town of Marfa, Texas. Over the past several years, Marfa has become a songwriting haven for the trio. When they returned for five days this past November though, they came not to write, but to record, capturing a new album.

Miranda said, “I’ll never forget pulling into Marfa that first night at 4am. The stars were like nothing I’d ever seen before, just this endless blanket hanging so low you could reach up and touch them. I immediately understood why this place was so special.”

Lambert released a new song just today (3/5) from the new work called "In His Arms."
