Viewers Weigh in on Anderson Cooper as a ‘Jeopardy!’ Host
Television journalist Anderson Cooper kicked off his temporary Jeopardy! hosting gig on Monday.
The show has rotated many different hosts over the last few months after longtime host Alex’s Trebek’s passing. This is not the first time the CNN anchor has been on the Jeopardy! stage. Cooper previously competed four times in the Celebrity Jeopardy Tournament.
“To be on this stage where Alex Trebek hosted Jeopardy! with such grace and intelligence for so long is really amazing and is very humbling.” Cooper during Monday’s show opening. “But, getting to guest host these next two weeks, raise money for good causes and pay tribute to Alex, it’s really an honor. I miss hime and I know that we all do.”
Majority of the Viewers were very vocal about their positive thoughts on Cooper’s job as a guest host. Here are some of the tweets regarding his first day:
Wow I thought Anderson Cooper would do a good job on #Jeopardy but I didn’t expect him to be this good on his first night.

On yesterday’s Live with Kelly and Ryan, Cooper talked with the hosts about his experience hosting Jeopardy! and what one of his main goals was. “You want to make it fun for the contestants. They don’t care that it’s your first time guest hosting, they want it to be the greatest experience that they can have. So that was really my focus, I just wanted it to be really fun for them, I don’t want to make any mistakes and mess up their game.”
Cooper’s episodes as a guest host will air until April 30 and will be followed Bill Whitaker.
