Conor McGregor Tops Forbes’ Highest-Paid Athletes List
Yesterday Forbes’ released the list of the World’s Top 10 Highest Paid Athletes.
All together the athletes earned over a whopping $1 billion within the last year.
MMA star Conor McGregor made the number one spot for the very first time. McGregor made $158 million solely in the ring and $180 million in total this year.
Here’s the top ten:
- Conor McGregor, UFC: $180 million
- Barcelona’s Lionel Messi, Barcelona: $130 million
- Cristiano Ronaldo, Juventus: $120 million
- Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys: $107.5 million
- LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers: $96.5 million
- Neymar, Paris Saint-Germain: $95 million
- Roger Federer, tennis: $90 million
- Lewis Hamilton, F1: $82 million
- Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: $76 million
- Kevin Durant, Brooklyn Nets: $75 million
Forbes’ looked at the salaries, bonuses and prize money from May 1, 2020 to May 1, 2021 while figuring out the on-field earnings. For off-field earnings, appearance fees, licensing income, and sponsorship deals as well as cash returns from any business ran by the athlete were accounted for.
