It’s almost time for your Elf on the Shelf to make his or her return. Traditionally the elf returns the day after Thanksgiving though some families have their elf arrive Dec 1 or when they put up their Christmas tree, it’s really up to you. If this is your first year with the elf there are a couple things you should know.

  1. Give your elf a name
  2. The elf moves every night
  3.  No one can touch the elf
  4. The elf doesn’t move while the kids are awake

The elf watches over your kid(s) each day and reports back to Santa and leaves just before Christmas to head back to the North Pole. If you’re looking for ideas for your own Elf on the Shelf, check out these photos from when the XTU office’s elf Chesney stopped by last year.
