In the Pennsylvania and New Jersey areas tests have been hard to come by, but starting today (Jan. 18), Americans can order free at home COVID-19 kits from the government.

A half-billion tests will be available for order at first, with an additional half-billion on order.

Requesting a test is simple. Just go to https://www.covidtests.gov/ to order their free at-home tests or go directly to the USPS site https://special.usps.com/testkits.

All you’ll need is your name and mailing address. Adding an email address is optional and can be shared to receive updates on your order. No credit card information is necessary to order the tests.

Every household can order up to four tests, according to a White House press release.

The White House anticipates tests will usually ship within 7-12 days of ordering and all tests will be shipped through First Class Package Service.
