Carly Pearce had a pretty rough 2020 as she documented in her latest album 29: Written In Stone with a very public divorce from Michael Ray, not even a year after they got married. However, Carly says she knows it all happened for a reason.

Pearce said, “I think life experience and the twists and turns of your life really can shape you to be better. I know for me, this season in my life I didn’t understand why I was going through it at the time, but I chose to dive in and really go there."

She added, "And I think ultimately it has made me a better artist and a better writer and a better woman.”

Pearce posted to Twitter about the album when it was released in September 2021, "This project is my heart on paper. We all go through hard things, but through those hard things, we have the opportunity to bring so much beauty from it. I now see that my pain was for a purpose, and for that, I am grateful for the journey."
