New Jersey Couple Finds Pearl Worth Thousands During Dinner in Cape May
I’m not usually one to eat raw clams, but if it means I might find myself a pearl… well, I’d give it a shot.
And just that happened to one couple enjoying a meal at The Lobster House in Cape May.
Last Sunday, Michael and Maria Spressler ordered appetizers at The Lobster House, and while Michael Spressler ordered his usual appetizer, a dozen clams on the half shell, there wasn’t anything usual about his experience.
Spressler told CBS3, “I was down to the 12th one and when I picked it up on the fork it looked kinda heavy, but I didn’t think nothing of it, then when I started to eat it I noticed something was in my mouth. I actually thought one of my tooth broke.”
What he started to eat was a pearl.
The pearl weighed out to be a whopping 8.8 millimeters and could go for thousands of dollars, reports CBS3.
The Spresslers were celebrating their anniversary and Maria Spressler said she would like to have the pearl set into a piece of jewelry to remember the special day.
