MIAMI BEACH, FL - APRIL 21: Genevieve Pared hugs her son Jason Pared as they look at photographs on display as they visit the Holocaust Memorial during Yom HaShoah-Holocaust Remembrance Day on April 21, 2009 in Miami Beach, Florida. Holocaust Remembrance Day is observed as a day of commemoration for the approximately six million Jews who died during the Holocaust.
Today is Yom HaShoah or Holocaust Remembrance Day. It’s a day to remember the 6-million Jews killed during the Holocaust, and celebrate the heroism of survivors and rescuers.
In Israel, the day is commemorated by the sounding of a siren for 2 minutes. During this time, work is halted, people walking in the streets stop, cars pull off to the side of the road and everybody stands at silent attention in reverence to the victims of the Holocaust. It is something to behold:
Love you, love your show!
