Looks like it’s Torts Time in Philadelphia. According to multiple reports, the Flyers have hired John Tortorella as their new head coach. ESPN’s Kevin Weekes said Thursday night that it’s a four-year deal. In his most recent job with the Columbus Blue Jackets from 2015-2021, Tortorella went 227-166-54. Before Columbus, Tortorella served as head coach of the New York Rangers, the Vancouver Canucks, and the Tampa Bay Lightning (leading them to their first Stanley Cup in 2004). The Flyers had announced last month they would not be bringing back Mike Yeo as head coach.
