Chris Stapleton has been in his home state of Kentucky this week, where floods have ravaged the eastern part of the state and taken the lives of 37 people.

Chris’ “Outlaw State of Kind Fund” is donating to the Red Cross and Appalachia Crisis fund through the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky. Stapleton also has been physically helping people pick up the pieces of their lives, helping people in one community move items out of a house.

Chris was spotted at an area Walmart helping out, where one fan snapped a photo.

Another fan in the Bluegrass state posted to Twitter, “@ChrisStapleton & @TTChilders are some good dudes. Got all that money and fame. Still came home and got down in the mud with their people. #KentuckyStrong.” Tyler Childers is also a country singer/songwriter.

One more wrote in part, “This is Etta. She is 6 and has nonverbal autism. She responded to @ChrisStapleton’s music and met him at the Prestonsburg Walmart while he was there buying supplies for flood survivors.”
