The Largest Abandon Mansion in America is in the Philly Suburbs!
Woah! I had no idea, did you?? It was owned by one of the investors of the Titanic and it’s in Elkins Park! Lynnewood Hall in Elkins Park was built for for industrialist Peter A. B. Widener between 1897 and 1900 and designed by Philadelphia architect Horace Trumbauer. The property has 55 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms, as well as an indoor pool. From an article back in July, it looks like there is a group who is trying to restore it!
TikTok has an incredible video. Supposedly repairs will cost around $8 million, which doesn’t seem like it’s that crazy. The video says that Widener lost both his son and grandson on the Titanic.
