Luke Bryan’s Christmas: Chilli Dogs, PJs, and Giving Away His Truck
Luke Bryan and his family love Christmas time. They also love playing pranks on each other and friends in what they have dubbed “Pranksmas.” One prank involved Luke’s wife Caroline and a friend stealing Bryan’s truck this year, and they are auctioning it off for charity.
Caroline posted a video of them taking his truck on her Instagram, writing, “PRANKSMAS DAY 4: Prank With a Purpose. @e3foundation and I stole Luke’s truck, and we put it up for auction!! Go to lukegivesback.org to enter to win his truck and other awesome prizes!!! Help support our combat warriors, fight against human trafficking, and support those in crisis. The deadline is Dec. 27th!”
We asked Luke what the most memorable Christmas gift he ever got as a kid was. He said, “My favorite Christmas gift is definitely my first Honda 50 motorcycle that I got back in 1984. It was just an amazing gift to have under the tree, and I never will forget seeing that as I walked out.”
Tomorrow night (12/24), Christmas Eve, the Bryan family has specific traditions they do each year. He told us, “We have a pajama night, and we do Chilli Dogs on Christmas Eve. We have always done that. My mother comes up; she makes me shop with her, so we have to pick out all the right stuff; we have to pick out the proper buns, the proper weiners. All the weiners for the Chilli Dog cooking, it’s a ritual.”
A couple of years back (2017), Luke recorded one of his favorite Christmas songs. He told us at the time, “I truly believe that ‘O Holy Night’ is one of the prettiest songs, one of the most spiritual Christmas songs that’s ever been. For years and years and years, I’ve just wanted the opportunity to sing it and hopefully to showcase a little of my south Georgia church voice upbringing. I’ve sung this song for years, obviously, and even as a kid in church. We just did piano and strings. I just felt like the big man upstairs was on my side singing it, and it was a very emotional, uplifting feeling while I was in the vocal booth.”
