Broad Street Run Switches Date and Announces Other Changes for 2023 Race!
Important info for all Broad Street Runners. I ran the race in 2010 and it was the year of the freak heatwave where it was 96 degrees and it was miserable. Ha!
Here are the details:
Traditionally the Broad Street Run is held on the first Sunday in May. For this year only, the 10-miler through Philadelphia is moving one week earlier: to Sunday, April 30. Reports are saying it’s because of the home Phillies game.
In their announcement Monday morning, race organizers also said that pandemic restrictions are over. You do not need to show proof of vaccination or wear a mask at the start line.
The finish line is also changing. This year’s race will end at the K Lot near Lincoln Financial Field.
The lottery for one of the limited 40,000 spots opens Feb. 1 at 12:01 a.m.
(PICS) 30ft Humpback Whale Washed Up in Front of Atlantic City Boardwalk!
This is the second massive whale to wash ashore within 15 days at the Jersey Shore! It’s the 4th whale in a month. How sad.
Here are the details from the Inquirer:
A 30-foot juvenile humpback whale washed up on the beach in Atlantic City on Saturday morning, the second time in 15 days a young whale has been swept ashore in the casino town.
This time, officials with the Marine Mammal Stranding Center decided not to bury the whale immediately, as they did on Dec. 23, when a similar-looking baby humpback whale washed ashore near the Tropicana.
