With three nominations at this year's 2023 Grammy Awards, Luke Combs has been announced as a performer on the show, which airs live on Sunday, February 5, on CBS. Other Grammy performers announced today (1/25) are Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Kim Petras, Sam Smith, and Lizzo and Steve Lacy. Additional performers will be announced in the coming days.
Luke's Grammy nominations are for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for "Outrunnin' Your Memory" with Miranda Lambert, Best Country Song for "Doin' This," and Best Country Album for Growin' Up.
Combs posted to his Instagram this morning (1/25), "I'm excited to announce I'll be performing on the @recordingacademy's #GRAMMYs on Sunday, February 5 at 8 p.m. ET/5 PM PT on @cbstv! Y'all tune in!!"
Fans were thrilled with the news. One wrote, "Cannot wait." Another fan said, "Still be doing this if I wasn't doing this... Best bar I ever heard." One fan commented, "Hell yeah, brother."
The 65th Annual Grammy Awards will air live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. It will be hosted for the third year in a row by Trevor Noah. The show will broadcast live on Sunday, February 5, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and will be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
Luke said of his recent nominations, "Getting these Grammy nominations is awesome, you know? You know they don't come around too often. And so, you know, having the opportunity to be thought of when that time comes is pretty unique and is always, always awesome. "
Combs was nominated for the all-genre Best New Artist Grammy in 2019; he was also nominated for a Grammy in 2020 in the Best Country Duo / Group Performance for his collaboration with Brooks & Dunn, a remake of their song "Brand New Man." He has yet to win a Grammy.
In country music, like other genres, some artists get recognition from the Grammys for almost everything they put out, and some artists do not get any. The ones who get all the nominations and wins are what we like to call "Grammy Darlings," and country has its fair share of them.
As Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, and Luke Combs score big Grammy nominations this year, we look at ten artists in country music, some from today and some from yesterday, who get all the love from Grammy voters through the years.
