A group of Connecticut high school students are performing acts of kindness as a way to raise money for their school. Students at Classical Magnet School in Hartford are on a mission to spread kindness while also raising funds to pay for school activities.

For each donation the student’s receive during their three-week Acts of Kindness Campaign, they perform an act of kindness of the donors choice to show their gratitude for the support. To kick off the campaign, students held a teddy bear toss, collecting stuffed animals to donate to area first responders so they can give them to families in crisis.

For the campaign’s launch earlier this week, the mayor of Hartford, Luke Bronin, and Hartford Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Leslie Torres-Rodriguez, were on hand. Students challenged the mayor to a basketball free-throw competition and the superintendent took part in a dance-off.
