Really Fat Cat Adopted to Loving Home
You’re going to love this Cup O’Joy story about a really fat cat adopted to a loving home …
There are normal-sized cats, there are large cats, and then there’s an absolute CHUNK of a feline that was adopted out by a shelter in Virginia this week. The Richmond Animal Care and Control shelter in Virginia showed off a picture of Patches, a “gloriously gluttoness” that tips the scales at 40.3 pounds.
Wait. WHAT?! Let’s put that in perspective. Here are some things that are 40 pounds:
- a small child
- a bowling ball
- a medium size bag of dog food
- 10 dozen large eggs
Yes. 40 pounds. But believe it or not, Patches isn’t the fattest cat on record; that honor belongs to a cat named Himmy that weighed 46 pounds in 1986 and had to be transported in a wheelbarrow, according to Guinness.
Fat Cat Adopted:
The shelter posted a video of Patches and his new owner yesterday on its Facebook page to celebrate his adoption, saying “40 lbs of LOVE right there!” They were also quick to mention See a photo of Patches with his new human HERE (and notice the heart on his nose!)
