It’s Official ‘Yellowstone’ Will End After Season Five
There has been a lot of talk about the fate of the TV series Yellowstone starring Kevin Costner, and if it will end. And now we know. Paramount has announced that the last episodes of Season Five will air in November, bringing the show to a close.
However, the story will continue in another spinoff in the Taylor Sheridan-created franchise. It will debut in December and possibly star Matthew McConaughey, who is in talks to lead the new cast.
David Glasser, CEO of 101 Studios, said in a statement, “The Dutton story continues, picking up where Yellowstone leaves off in another epic tale. We are thrilled to bring this new journey to audiences around the world.”

The series tells the story of the Dutton family and all the drama surrounding the success of their ranch and their sometimes crazy personal lives. Yellowstone already has a list of prequel and spinoff series, including 1883, 1923, and 6666. Episodes of the show are available to stream on Peacock. Episodes of the new spinoff series will air on Paramount Network and be available to stream on Paramount+.
As reported earlier this week, Costner’s wife of 18 years, Christine Costner, filed Monday (5/1) to end their marriage . No word on what led to the split. Gossip site TMZ reports that Christine cited “irreconcilable differences.”
Costner’s Hollywood rep told TMZ in a statement, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.” The rep added, “We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”
Christine is asking for joint custody of the couple’s three kids, who are 12, 14, and 15. Kevin filed his response Tuesday (5/2), in which he also asks for joint custody. This is Costner’s second marriage.
