Blake Shelton And The Boys Spoiled Gwen On Mother’s Day
Blake Shelton talked with Access Hollywood on the red carpet for last night’s (5/15) The Voice. He offered what he and his stepsons did for his wife, Gwen Stefani, on Mother’s Day (5/14).
Blake said, “It was a pretty laid-back day. Me and the boys, we got her some flowers and candles, and the boys made her some things. Just tried to spoil her a little bit. But then we all went out for a dinner.” He added, “It was a pretty laid-back day, but we tried to celebrate her. She works hard.”
Shelton also discussed who could fill his shoes on The Voice next Season as the new coaches, including Reba McEntire, were announced. He joked, “You know what? Whoever’s willing to come into the show and start drinking. I would say by like 3 pm, whichever one of the new coaches that are willing to do that will be the one that fills my shoes.”
Blake added, “That’s really been the difference maker. I don’t know how other coaches do this job without drinking.”

As we reported yesterday (5/15), Blake was surrounded by his wife, Gwen Stefani, and his stepsons and his family from Oklahoma when he received his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame Friday (5/12). His former fellow judge from The Voice, Adam Levin of Maroon 5, was there, as was the show’s host Carson Daly.
Blake said at the ceremony, “I kind of stopped checking things off my list of great accomplishments in my life when I married Gwen, so this is just icing on the cake. I love you so much, and that’s the great thing that’s happened along this journey.”
Shelton also paid tribute to his late brother, Richie, who died in a car accident in 1990. He said from the podium, “My family’s all here, by the way, from Oklahoma. I was talking to my mom this morning, and I was just thinking about what I’m gonna say when I get up here. She says to me, ‘I wish Richie could’ve been here to see this and everything that you’ve done.’ So I dedicate my star on this Walk of Fame to my brother Richie.”
