This Pennsylvania City is the Best City for…Naked Biking?

First of all, naked biking is not legal throughout most of America. You can’t just go around and take a bike ride in your birthday suit. But, one Pennsylvania city is apparently the best city for baked biking in America. Who knew that Pennsylvania naked biking was a thing?

The new study comes from LawnStarter, who ranked 2023’s best cities for naked biking. “We compared the 200 biggest U.S. cities based on five categories,” they state in the study. “We looked at naked biking events, local interest in nude cycling, bikeability, and legal bumps in the road (like public nudity laws), among 11 total metrics.”

Let’s start with the bottom of the list. Surprise, Arizona, is the worst city in America for naked biking, according to the study. Other cities that are really bad for naked biking are Miramar, Florida, and Glendale, Arizona.

According to the study, the best city for naked biking in America if Philadelphia. “In first place, Philadelphia streaks to the top overall and in Nudist-Friendliness,” they state in the study. “While there isn’t a sizable nudist population in the City of Brotherly Love, full public nudity is allowed in Philly — as long as you aren’t being ‘lewd.’ It also is legal to be topless throughout Pennsylvania, making the city a beacon for biking in the buff.” Find the full study here.

  • Lake Santeetlah, North Carolina

  • Hanging Lake, Colorado

    Hanging Lake is so glorious. It’s located in the middle of Glenwood Canyon in the White River National Forest, and it’s actually part of the Southern Rocky Mountains. This lake “was formed by a geologic fault which caused the lake bed to drop away from the valley floor above,” according to the USDA Forest Service, and is a designated National Natural Landmark.
