How cool is this? Chester Children's Chorus is doing an all country show and we couldn't be more excited about it here at 92.5 XTU!
In fact, we had the amazing John Alston, the Executive and Assistant Director of the Chester Children's Chorus, call in and tell us all about the show.
What Is The Chester Children's Chorus?
This is a non-profit organization and a program of Swarthmore College that gives kids in Chester, Pennsylvania, a chance to perform in a massive choir of kids. It's helping advance their music education and also giving them a community of peers.
Since its founding in 1994, more than 600 children have participated in the program, which equips them for academic and personal success in their community and beyond.
Country Music For CCC
We were so happy to hear about their amazing country concerts (three in total), but it begs the question, why did they decide to go country for these shows? Here's what John Alston had to say in a press release from the Chester Children's Chorus/
"There is a serious reason that we're singing country music. Some folks who love country music may not think they have much in common with our Chester children. So, what happens, is that when we perform this, folks who love the music and our children become a little closer and respect and understand each other a little bit more. It's quite intentional."
When Is The CCC Country Show?
It's Friday, July 28th and Saturday, July 29th at 7:30pm (doors open at 6:45pm) at Lang Performing Arts Center at Swarthmore College. Admission is FREE so come enjoy some great country music from these kiddos.

For the first time in 30 years, the CCC is going country! Join our 136 children as they sing their "Achy Breaky Hearts" out this summer.
Amazing Gender Reveal With Help Of Local Students
When it comes to an amazing gender reveal, this one should be at the top of the list, without a doubt.
I'm Jeff Kurkjian from The Andie Summers Show and my wife and I are expecting our first child in August of 2023. We are absolutely ecstatic to become parents, it's something we've always wanted. And some local students helped with the gender reveal.
I mean, c'mon man, doesn't it look like we need a baby in this World Series photo??
We Got The Help Of A Local Middle School
Thanks to our friends at Sandy Run Middle School, we were able to put together an amazing song to reveal the gender of our baby to the rest of the The Andie Summers Show.
Andie, Donnie and Shannon showed up to the school for our video filming but had NO IDEA how the gender would be revealed. Little did they know... it was coming in the way of a t-shirt.

What Is A "Classroom Cover?"
I have been doing this for quite some time. I think the importance of music in schools is understated for our students. I grew up in choir and theater and it shaped me into the man I am today.
I started visiting schools and singing with them as a way to show school programs how awesome these students and programs are! I take a hit country song we play on 92.5 XTU, and then I rearrange it to fit the choir, they rehearse and then we make a music video!
