How to Win Powerball and Stay Anonymous When You Do
The Andie Summers Show will give you chances to win Powerball tickets Friday morning with Andie Summers Ticket Tag.
Here’s how to win on The Andie Summers Show:
- Listen for the cue to call at the top of each hour
- If you get through, you must “tag” the previous winner by remembering his/her name.
- Boom. You win a shot at $925-Million Dollars!
Powerball is up to 925 million for Saturday night’s drawing. If you’re like me and would love to win, but would also love to maintain your anonymity, I have good news for you. As the Powerball jackpot grows, Pennsylvania hopes to protect the state’s lottery winners.
There is a law in the Pennsylvania House right now that would give Pennsylvania lottery winners the option to remain anonymous. It passed the Senate unanimously.
According to ABC27, one state representative is all for the bill. Senator Lisa Baker said she has a friend who hit the lottery (literally) and, while the money was nice, it was not a great experience. Baker said her friend felt harassed and even stalked. What’s worse? The winner’s grandparents were contacted by someone who tried to scam them, saying the winner owed them money.
Pennsylvania Protect Winners
In the event it doesn’t pass, did you know that in Pennsylvania, you can create a trust to collect your winnings and it can keep your name out of the process? It’s true. But a lot of people don’t know, many don’t think they need it, and some just don’t have the means to make it happen. The Pennsylvania Lottery likes the current arrangement because, basically, they believe seeing a winner is good for business.
It does make it more exciting to play when you can put a face and name to a jackpot winner. We’re all curious to see what they do with the money. But would you not play if you only knew there was a winning ticket and not who it belonged to? I think you would. And I think, if you win, you and your family would really appreciate your anonymity if you choose to keep it.
How To Play Powerball
For $2 per ticket, you select 5 numbers between 1 and 69 for the white balls. And then one more number between 1 and 26 for the red Powerball.
Drawings happen every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 ET. To watch the drawings, click HERE.
The jackpot grows until a ticket wins by matching all 5 white balls and 1 red ball (Powerball).
If you’re lucky enough to win, you can choose to receive your price as an annuity – which is paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump sum.
