50,000 NFL Fans In Germany Sing John Denver Classic In Harmony

You are probably thinking National Football League fans in Germany, how could that be?
Over the last bunch of years, the NFL has expanded its playing venues to different countries trying to reach a worldwide audience. It seems to be pretty successful because the audience turnout is spectacular. The NFL has played a bunch of times in Canada and Mexico but they also set their sights on playing overseas as well. England has held lots of games, especially in London. It always seems like the Jacksonville Jaguars get those London games. The NFL is really pushing to have an overseas team. I could definitely see it being the Jacksonville Jaguars. I am not sure how that will work with their away schedule because their flights would be so much longer than other teams. The NFL has also held games in Germany and those fans are awesome. German fans are known for their love of futbol a.k.a soccer but they also show out for NFL games.
Yesterday, the defending Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs took on the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany. I almost threw up in my mouth typing out “defending Super Bowl champions” because they beat my beloved Eagles.
During a timeout in the game, the PA system started playing John Denver’s “Country Roads” and the entire 50,000-person audience broke out into a huge sing-a-long.

Now, this is not the first overseas game where this has happened. Last year, this happened when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawks played a game in Munich, Germany at Allianz Stadium. That day 70,000 people all sang the song and it was amazing.
The video above of NFL fans singing is really funny to watch. Remember, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins are the 2 teams playing. Look at the amount of other team’s jerseys. You see Seahawks jerseys, Patriots jerseys, Packers jerseys, Panthers jerseys… I even saw one guy who must be a big Tom Brady fan because he had a Patriots jersey on and a Tampa Bay Buccaneers hat on. This is something you would never see in the United States during an NFL game. It is sorta like wearing a Bayern Munich soccer jersey and a Borussia Dortmund hat on.
I will say in closing, I love the NFL overseas games because the games start at 9:00 am EST and that means I can watch football from 9:00 am all the way until 11:30 pm.
