Blake Shelton: How The Christmas Duet With Gwen Came About
Blake Shelton and his wife, Gwen Stefani, love the holidays and have been showing what they’ve been up to this season on their social media.
Before Blake and Gwen were married and just dating and getting to know each other, he told me about what he did to be on Stefani’s 2017 You Make It Feel Like Christmas album. He said of co-writing the title song for the project, “I wanted to be a part of this (Christmas album), but I didn’t know how, and I just started to write, and I came up with a song title, and I sent it to her I said, ‘Hey, I’ve got an idea, you may like it, you may hate it. I’m just throwing it at ya for your Christmas album.’ And I only meant for it to be for her, and I sent it on a voice memo, and she flipped, and they ended up writing the song the next day.”
He added, “They finished it, and they wrote it as a duet, and I was even more excited about that to be able to sing on her record.”
That song, of course, was “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.”

Shelton revealed in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, that there is one New Year’s Resolution he can’t seem to achieve, but he keeps trying.
He told ET, “I haven’t managed to stop drinking yet. Even cutting back has been hard. I mean, it’s a resolution, though. That’s my New Year’s resolution. To either cut back or stop drinking altogether. Let’s just say I said it.”
He also revealed that he and his wife Gwen Stefani’s plans will be pretty low-key. He said, “If we’re at home during New Year’s Eve, we’re probably going to bed before it even happens.”
Turns out that Blake does have plans this year on New Year’s Eve as he is set to play New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash, set to air New Year’s Eve on CBS.
