Luke Combs: What Christmas Was Like Growing Up
Luke Combs’ Christmas in 2023 looks much different than it did when he was growing up in North Carolina. Now, Luke has two young sons and his wife Nicole at home near Nashville to celebrate the big day.
Not long ago, he told us in an interview about his Christmases growing up. He told us at the time, “I grew up in the mountains of North Carolina. I was born in Ashville and went to college in Boone, which is even more in the mountains. I love the snow and the decorations; I am into that. Like it gets me in the mood for the season and stuff.”
As for gifts when he was a teenager, he said, “We were lower middle class. So it was like when you’re a kid, you always want the new Xbox or whatever is coming out. You want the new videogame deal.”
He added, “Around our house, it was like my mom’s a great gift giver, you know, and she always made the best out of it, but it was never like, ‘Oh, I wanted this thing.’ It was always within the scope of reality the gifts you would be getting.”

Combs’s wife, Nicole, recently took questions from fans on her Insta Stories as she often does, but this time, she filmed her responses on her phone and shared them with fans.
One fan asked Nicole if the couple’s 17-month-old son Tex was excited for Santa to come. In the clip, dressed in a black zip-up Nike sports jacket, Nicole said, “I know it’s kind of crazy because they say kids his age don’t really know about Santa, but he will see a Santa commercial on TV and be like, ‘Santa.’ And I’m like, ‘What?’ So yeah, I guess he’s really excited about Santa and the reindeer.”
She added the family home is missing one particular decoration, and it’s a big one. She said, “We don’t have a tree up this year because he’s in his climbing stage, and it just… it’s not gonna work. She then asked fans for tips for “children that are seventeen months and climbing everything. Let me know.”
