Dolly Parton: A.I. ‘Scares Me To Death’
Dolly Parton is not a fan of A.I. and told The Hollywood Reporter that it “scares me to death.” When asked in a recent interview if she would ever use it, she said, “I think that is a weapon and a tool that can be scary. I think it’s going to be great for a lot of things, like science and medicine and many, many things, but not to replace human beings.”
Dolly also said it’s “like the mark of the beast.” She noted that you can’t “remake a person,” and she doesn’t want that, adding that she wants to “leave a body of work behind.” Parton said that if used correctly, it can “be great,” but not to replace voices and writings and not to replace a “human being that belongs to God.”
In the same interview, Dolly was asked how well she knew Whitney Houston, who sang Parton’s “I Will Always Love You,” making it a smash hit in pop. The country icon admitted that while she met Whitney, she only saw her, sometimes backstage at shows. She said they were “not friends,” but she thought Whitney was “so incredible.” Dolly said it broke my heart to see her “go down like she did.” Houston died of drowning after consuming drugs in February of 2012.
