Lainey Wilson To Celebrate Philadelphia Country Station’s 40th Anniversay
Lainey Wilson is helping our Philadelphia country station, 92.5 XTU celebrate its 40th Anniversary.
We officially celebrate our 40th Anniversary on March 14, 2024, but she is headlining our XTU Anniversary Show on June 14th at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion and well, we couldn’t be more excited! Ian Munsick and Zach Top will also be performing.
Lainey Wilson has had quite a couple of years in country music. It all started with her first radio hit “Things a Man Oughta Know.” She now has several hit songs under her belt and bell bottoms, including collaboration with Jelly Roll, and she took home the ACM Artist of the Year and CMA Entertainer of the Year Award in 2023.
During the pandemic, we did everything we could to create a new sense of normalcy among XTU Nation. One of the things we did was create a virtual Christmas concert where we introduced the world to Lainey Wilson. Not only did she look great and sound great, but Lainey showed us the new crazy side of country. She is a wild child with a great spirit and I can’t wait to celebrate 40 years with her! Scroll into 1:24 to hear Lainey and I talk about the special and what her career has been like so far.
Lainey, a prolific songwriter, has six number 1 songs to date and has become the lead female artist with the most number 1’s this decade along with a Best Country Album GRAMMY. She made her acting debut on Season 5 of Paramount’s smash hit series Yellowstone. So yeah, she is a triple threat.
So what’s left for Lainey Wilson to do? At the ACMs last year she told me she has to dream a little bit bigger since so much has happened to her in the last couple of years. She wants to be on SNL. “It would be fun to do.”
The History Of Our XTU Anniversary Show
XTU Nation
Country music has a unique ability to make people feel good in a way that’s hard to replicate by other music genres. XTU Nation has created a fantastic community across the Delaware Valley. From our station events, such as the Toy Truck Parade, the summer festivals, ticket runs and everything in between, XTU Nation shows up every time. You are some of the world’s most passionate and devoted fans. You love the country music, the country artists, and the community. And if you’ve ever been to an XTU event or concert, you know what I mean. XTU Nation makes country concerts some of the most fun events you can attend, and the memories will last forever. We can’t wait to see you this summer!
Why We Love Country Music
Country music has the best fans in any genre, and that is thanks to the amazing artists we support. Country artists are some of the most genuine people in the world. They’re not afraid to be themselves and to show their true colors, just like us! Country artists sing about real life, with all its ups and downs. They’re not afraid to be vulnerable and to share their personal stories with their fans. This makes them incredibly relatable and allows us to know them on a personal level. We know how kind, generous, and supportive they are, which makes for an amazing concert every time.
History Of XTU’s Anniversary Shows
We’re so excited to throw our XTU Anniversary Show every year since 1984. It’s incredible to see all the country artists that have come to Philadelphia and performed just for XTU Nation. We’ve had some incredible moments from our Anniversary Shows over the years. Take a look at the acts we have come through over the years!
